Bob Turner

Bob Turner passed into The Great Beyond on February 22, 2024, at home. He was born Bobby Jack Turner to May Florence and Jack Turner on February 26, 1943, in Los Angeles. At the age of 5, he moved to Iowa, and during his teens, he moved to Las Vegas. He met Carol Hemington while they were attending Las Vegas High School and they married in 1964 while living in Berkeley, CA. In 1971, they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where Bob trained as a ferrier. The following year, they returned to Las Vegas to be with family. Bob worked as a painter at The Mirage. He was a voracious reader and enjoyed many years of hiking, camping, and canoeing with his family. He retired at the age of 66 in 2010.

Bob had a rough last year of his life healthwise, but made it to his 60th wedding anniversary on February 1st of this year. On February 26, the whole family gathered together for dinner in honor of what would have been his 81st birthday.

He is survived by his wife Carol, his children, Chenoa, Rainbow and her husband Scott Maiden, Kodi Starr and her husband Earl Reed, Kyle and his wife, Shanna Hess, Sierra and her husband John Fiore; 9 grandchildren: Davin and his wife Alyssa, Lauralye, Bobby, Sophia, Savana, Kira, Meredith and Addy; and two great grandchildren: Ezra and Elijah. He was loved and will be missed until we all meet again. A home service will be held.
