Thank you for being an awesome work Mom. You were firm & gentle at the same time. You were all that we needed in that season. I loved seeing you & your husband in those nice Cadillacs. Y’all looked goooood. Take your rest my friend. My condolences to the family

My heart aches knowing you are no longer with us….but it smiles knowing that you are once again reunited with your sisters Belinda and Pat. Thank you for blessings all of our lives with your love and your kind words of encouragement. The one memory that I will always cherish and hold onto, is when you came to my house in Virginia for the sibling reunion. SLEEP IN PEACE AUNTIE….TELL AUNTIE BELINDA AND MOM WE SAID HI. We know that all three of y’all will be looking over us.

With a HEAVY heart I offer my condolences. This woman was not my biological Aunt but she was. Aunt Gerri has been in my life since I was 3. We have pictures together at Central Park. Hanging out at the ballpark in Harlem. She’s always been there for me, just a phone call away. When my mother passed (Loretta her best friend) she didn’t take it so well and we were there for each other. Even though she’s not here on this earth I know I’m my heart that her and my mother are together again in the Kingdom of Heaven. I love you Aunt Gerri.

What a friend we have in Jesus—What a friend; I had in you! I will miss exchanging lemon cake & teacakes for a meatloaf. I will miss sending & receiving messages about special programming on PBS (channel 10)…Shirley Caesar, Roberta Flack, Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Five Blind Boys, and Dr King. We shared opinions on The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Independent Lens, and so many other entertainers, leaders, and subjects. We enjoyed discussing but not always in agreement with each other. You had the BEST laugh. Thank you for being a friend who ask how I was doing and then wait to hear the answer. I will miss you. Rest peacefully my friend. My deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time.
